Soap Operas vs. Soap Operas

I happen to have a favorite show, which happens to be the hit CW 11 show Gossip Girl. I love this show, it is so addictive. Its kinda like cocaine....well actually I have never done cocaine, but I can't stop watching this show. So this got me thinking, my obsession with Gossip Girl is like my moms obsession with Days of Our Lives. I hate that show, she makes me watch it with her. It is on everyday at 11am, which is when she is usually is at work, so she records it on our DVR. She freaks if she can't watch it. So I get it, because I always feel the same way about Gossip Girl. But the fact that she can't understand why I want to watch my show so bad, pisses me off!

I think it is funny that different generations will both watch what I would call 'soap operas', but then not watch each others. My mom thinks Gossip Girl is the
stupidest shit i have ever seen, I mean so stupid, how can you watch this shit!
And that is a direct quote, I literally wrote it down after she said it. What makes it funny to me is that it is the same way that I feel about her shows.

So it is just a little never ending circle. But the most ridiculous things happen on Days of Our Lives. I can't believe that Catherine is lead to think that she forgets things, and might have a mental illness. And that they can all just let things so stupid ruin their lives. But all in all this show is not as bad as Passions.

I don't know if you have ever seen this particular soap opera. But it is just absurd! I mean a little doll that is brought to life by a witch, then dies....how do dolls die? And then Charity is put under spells by Kay so that she won't love Miguel, because Kay loves Miguel. And Teressa is in love with Ethan but there are so many things that stop them from being together, it is frustrating to watch. Oh then Chad and Whitney are in love, but then find out they are brother and sister, after they have a baby together! Like what, their mom was a big old fluzy ack in the day! But she leaves her semi hott husband for Julien, an old rich guy, who talks with a snobby accent.

Anyways there is so much that goes into it, so many webs of deception, sex lies, and just ewwww. I can see how my mom wounldn't like my show, but I understand why she likes hers, even though I despise it. I am glad she stopped watching Passions, I couldn't take one more loveless romance, love triangle, random birth, or magic inccident. It was too much for me, and I am the most ridiculous person I know! Well that might have been a lie, or a half truth. But I mean really, watch it sometime I dare you! Let me know what you think about it.

Then there is my brothers. They are obsessed witht the OC...like really?!? What is up with that? I thought that was a total girl show, I don't even like that show. But my older brother has seen every episode, and my little brother records all the repeats off of soap net and watched them at 4 o'clock religously everyday.

I guess we all like soap operas and have different ideas of what is interesting enough to watch, and what just straight up BLOWS! And my family has no problem letting each other know that their so called favorite show is cir du soLAME!

My dad doesn't watch anything but Monday Night football and The News, which is a soap opera in its own way I would think, so he is in on it too. He just gets made fun of for other things, such as his dancing skills every night before dinner.

Don't trust a hoe

3OH!3 amazes me!

So I can rhyme that is apparent, but not as well as these fools can. Holy shit they are incredible.
While checking out all the bands that were going to be at warped tour, Chrystle stumbled upon them. She then made me listen to them, and wow! I fell in love. So naturally when we found out they were coming to SEATTLE , needless to say we had to be there.

After spending the night in Seattle, after an incredible Cobra concert the night before. So we went to the spaghetti factory for lunch, saw a bunch of dinosaurs, wizards, pirates, and various other creatures roaming the water front for candy. After a delicious meal, we headed to Fremont St. in search of nectar lounge, and a place to park, preferably for free. Once that goal was accomplished, we went on a walk around to see what was up. The line hadn't started yet, an
d we were bored. We found a little antique shop kinda thing, got the best mocha I've ever had from this tiny cafe with the coolest ceiling. This little adventure didn't take as long as we had hoped. SO we went to get some snacks to eat in line while we waited for many hours. We decided to start the line at 3:15, we were first there, and had to ask a couple guys who ended up being in the opening bands, where we should start it. We got some hot chocolate to keep from freezing our asses off, and proceeded to wait. We were basically the only ones in line for like 2 hours, when people finally started to show up.

We were the first ones in and ended up front row center. Which was a great spot, and also kinda sucked at times. Like when the opening act was pelvic thrusting at our faces and sweating all over us. Ya didn't really enjoy that too much. The Chai
n Gang Of 1974 was awesome, Kam and Brandon are tite, and really know how to please a crowd, plus they are super nice. Innerpartsystem was good, kinda if you were on ecstacy it would have been better. There were so many lights, and each song blended into the next. When 3OH!3 came on, it was just awesome. They can DANCE let me tell you. ANd Nate grabbed my face and sang to me, which was cool and a little weird. Besides gettting humped by some dude behind me, and almost breaking my pelvis on the stage, it was GREAT!

After we went to try and by a shirt, but 3OH!3 was all sold out of the good ones. So we went to pick up Kam and Brandons
cd instead, and ended up buying shirts from them. They were so nice, and applauded us for being first in line. They told us to myspace them, and we parted ways. We really wanted to meet Sean and Nate of 3OH!3, but their extremely nice tour manager told us they weren't coming out. So we said goodbye to some new friens that we met, and decided that it was time to head back to Blaine.

After a quick wardrobe chang on the street, and a stop at taco bell, we were on our way back to Blaine and reality. Rocktober was over, it was sad. But we had some awesome times, made some new friends and listened to some great music.

I wouldn't change a thing.

Lets talk about some Cobras

Sassyback Tour Part 1: featuring Cobra Starship, Forever the Sickest Kids, Sing it loud, and Hit the Lights.

This concert took place in Vancouver, BC. We felt like we were lost the entire way to the venue, because Canada is the most confusing place road wise EVER! Once we found where we needed to be, we decided we should refuel before the show. And when I say refuel I mean grab some drinks and nachos at a random bar (p.s. I got a parking ticket here, another reason I hate Canada). SO after getting a good buzz we headed back to the venue to claim our meet and greet. We waited for Matty Bro while chatting with some random girls in line, and watching all the opening band guys strolling past us back and forth. After about 2 hours we finally got patted down and led into a room where we would get to meet Cobra Starship. Well Gabe didn't show up, he has a cyst on his vocal cord and has been on vocal rest between shows, and shouldn't even be singing. We were disappointed but the rest of the band was super nice. Ryland is a giant, and loved my shirt, Nate had a sweet purple sharpie, Alex Suarez and me did a tug life pose (we saw him like everywhere in the three days he was in the same places as us) and Vicky-t was super sweet and loved Chrystles shirt. So we got barricade and were at stage left. Which was where Alex Suarez stands, but more on that later. I became a huge fan of Sing it loud that night, their songs are so catchy and happy. Plus Pat Brown gave me a hug, he is so nice. Hit the light was good, they played Body Bag and Speakers Blown which I love. But Forever the Sickest Kids really stole my heart that night. I had listened to them a little, but they are pretty incredible. When Cobras came out is when we really started to sweat. They have so much energy, and Gabe is an amazing dancer. They played all my favorites
"my boots need shinin' son!"
haha greatest line ever. After the show we made our way outside. We met Nate from Sing it loud, he is so nice we bought two Cd's from him, I thought he was going to have a heart attack he was so happy. We really wanted to catch up with FTSK but their bus was swarming with 16 year old girls, as was Cobras. So instead we met Dave from Hit the Lights and chatted for a while, as well as Omar from Hit the lights who was hella funny. We waited around and found it to be a lost cause to stick around and try to see Gabe and FTSK. So we called it a night and decided that we would catch them in Seattle in two days.

Sassyback Part 2: Featuring Cobra Starship, Forever the Sickest Kids, Sing it loud, and Hit the lights.

This was the most fun I have ever had at a concert, well that might be debatable but it was fricken rad. So we headed down early so we could go visit Kara, then headed off to get some food and set up our hotel stuff (we got a room cuz we had a concert the next night in Seattle). We got a call from Megan and Sarah saying the line was already around the building and it was only 2:30. It was a sold out show so it was kinda crazy. After an awkward Subway experience we walked to El Corezon to join our friends in line. After a three hour line wait and some funness with the peeps we finally began going inside. We set up in the back on the wall, because there is no bad place to stand at El Corezon, unless you are behind a pole lol. It was so packed in the club because it was tiny compared to other venues they had played at, but that made it way more fun. All the bands were amazing, and Cobras played The World has its Shine which they hadn't done two days before. It took us forever to get outside after with all the people that were crammed like sardines in that small space. Saw the fury on Sarah and mines adventure out. My and Chrystle were on a mission to Give Nate from Hit the light the Starbucks card we got for him for his birthday. Once we found him all by chance he was so grateful and gave us hugs and took pictures. We also got to talk to Ben Peterson of Sing it loud, and Vicky-t again. We also caught Jonathon Cook from FTSK right before he got back on the bus to leave, he might be the nicest person I have ever met, not counting Gabe Saporta. Whom we also got to meet agian. He was on vocal rest and couldn't talk, but was still super nice somehow. After a couple gangster pics we headed back to our hotel. A bum said happy halloween to us, and creeped us out on the very empty and dark street we had to travel. Once back we ordered a pzzia, chatted about everything that went down, and watched the Discovery Channel. Monster Quest is our new favorite s how lol. We went to bed about 2am and tryed tor est up for the next night of meyhem.

Music Nerd: that might describe me.

I prefer to refer to October as Rocktober. Yes that's right it was Rocktober for me and my best friend Chrystle. We attended 5 concerts, all in two weeks. It was awesome, there is nothing I love more than standing as close as humanly possible to a crowd full of sweaty people, whom also share my love of a certain band. So I think I will describe each concert, and maybe add my favorite picture from each one. Are you ready? I hope so haha.

Maybe I should start with a little warning: If you do not like Panic at the Disco, The Cab, The Academy is..., We the Kings, Cobra Starship, Forever the Sickest Kids, Sing it Loud, or Hit the LIghts, Well then don't read this cuz you won't enjoy it, or not know or care what I am talking about. Well this might be more for me to remember this week forever, so I can tell my grandchildren how RAD I used to be.

Rock Band Live: Starring Panic at the Disco, Dashboard Confessional, The Plain White T's, and The Cab

The Everett Events Center is located in the middle of Everetts downtown area. Not exactly the ideal location for an areana. So we get there early because Chrystle won the meet and greet with Panic so she had to be there by 4:40pm. But of course we had to get there early cuz Chrystle was a little nervous and wanted everything to go well. We got a place to park, made the final desicons on our outfits and headed to find where she had to be for the meet and greet (I did not win, and she was supposed to go in alone). So blah blah blah we walked around, went pee at the ice rink, checked out where the buses were parked, and spyed on The Cab through holes in the wall surrounding the parking area. Yes I said spy, and yes we were seen by these two girls that were with singer and Marshall, it was pretty funny. Any whoooooo we ended up waiting an extra hour and a half because Panic was performing at the Space Needle. So when Zach (their tour manager) finally arrived, I was all prepared to walk to the other side of the areana to wait to go inside on my own. Anyways Chrystle asked the wonderful Zach if I could be her plus one and come in and meet them, and he said yes. He is a very kind man, more on that later. Anyways so this was the second time I met them, they are very sweet, and Spencer's mustache reminds me of a Mexican Child moletser, but I still love him. After the meet and greet which was made a little awkward by Ryan Ross, we attempted to sneak onto the floor, we were unsucessful. The Cab played litereally minutes after we sat down, and I felt terrible because everyone in the pit seemed to have no idea who they were, I on the other hand know every word to every sone. We danced and sang along, but it wasn;t the same with all the lame-o's around us. We kinda skipped the Plaine White Tease, to meet up with our friends Sarah and Megan, watch a few of Dashboards songs, and waited for Panic to come on. When they did we were like th eonly ones in our section singing along and dancing, it was an amzing performance, and the ended with SHOUT. Not one of their songs but still awesome. So after we ran out to meet up with Sarah and say good-bye. We stayed after to see if we could talk to The Cab. There were a bunch of little girls, and we saw Tom from the Plain White Tease. We waited for like an hour, and got to talk to Johnson a little and get a picture. And Ian came out and said hey and gave us red bull, peanut butter, chips and gum. He is so sweet. The frcken security guys were kinda rude, and Tyler (the Cab's tour manager) was a DOUCHE. But after their van pulled out, we decided it was time to go. Zach rolled out to see what was going on, and as we walked past him he began to follow us. I was like "Hey I am not going to run in there, do you see me! but you can walk with us if you want" he didn't say anything, just handed Chrystle a peice of paper. It was a paper signed by Panic. SO we yelled we loved him, and he yelled it back, then we were on our merry way to the car, then home. The night was over, but it was a real good one!

Bill and Trav's Bogus Journey: The Academy Is..., We the kings, Carolina Liar, and Hey Monday!

This day started at 12 when we met up with Megan to carpool down to Seattle. It was a pretty quick ride. We had to stop in shoreline because I almost pissed myself. I had to whip out my costco card (luckily I had it) so we knew that there was a bathroom we could use. Once we got to Seattle we ended up following Hey Monday's van all the way to the showbox. Once we found an acceptable parking plce, we went on a search to find something to each at Pikes Place. After what seemed like forever we decided on a randon restraunt and went in. Our red headed waiter was pretty funny, and sang a little duet with Chrystle to a Whole new world. He named our table party girls and high fived us on our way out. haha it was great fun. Then we went back to join the line. We met up with Sarah and her sister Rachel, and took some pics with our new friends Cassie, Julia, and Olivia. Chrystle and I were left in line with them while Sarah got early entry, and Rachel and Megan hit the bar. We ended hitting it off. We talked about how awesome and Metrosexual the Jonas Brothers were, and has N'Sync sing alongs. They are cool. So once inside we decided to join the pit and make it a hott night. Hey Monday! was up first. I wasn't a fan at first but they are growing on me. Next was Carolina Liar, they are amazing, and the Swedish keyboard player (who is now my boyfriend [sarcasm might be present in this staement]) kept starring at me and threw me a water. I really enjoyed that set. Then the co-headliner We the Kings was up. This was the 4th time I have seen them this year, and they never cease to amaze me. They played August is over which they haven't before, and did a cover of Feel Good Inc. by the Gorillaz. Hunter came out rapping, and it was incredible. Cobra Starship was there and came out to help out with their last song. It was f-ing tite! After that I had to get out of the second row, which is where I was somehow pushed throughout the previous sets. We took a bathroon break and went back in for TAI. They were off the hook. About a girl borught out dance moves I didn't know I had. And when Cobras came back and did snakes on a plane with William Beckett I almost died of happiness. Whew. When we started to make our way outside I saw my Swedish Boyfriend. I got a hug and a very cute picture with him. He was super nice. Then we headed outside where we met Jersey, Mike, and Alex from Hey Monday! Mike apparently wants to see a motorcycle accident, and Jersey has a cute scarf that people make fun of a lot. Then we talked about Are you Afraid of the dark. haha they are so nice. We met Cassadie as well. She is the nicest girl in the whole worl maybe. So here is the best thing that happened that night. We went to say hi to Hunter from We the Kings and he was totally shit faced. He told us that his piss is the fountain of youth, swore at chrystlem and petted the shit out of my face. He spit in our friends face, and slightly molested another lol. He is greatness, then ran by a fan and kind of tapped her and ran away, she was all confused and excited, it was hilarious. So the evening ended with a delicious taco bell feast, and all was well.

This is half of it but I think I will go on again later. I need a brak to think, and get some sleep. Stay tuned for PART TWO. Here's a sneak peak:

TO BE CONTINUED........

Maiden Voyage

So this is my first ever real life blog!

It is my maiden voyage so to to speak, ha wow I really just like using that phrase as it pertains to any first time experience.

This blog is going to share with you my feelings towards the world, music (a touchy subject I feel), pirates (because I am one, and think they are the greatest thing ever), as well as anything that pops into my eccentric little mind. And when I say little I mean HUGE brilliant mind. Okay sometimes I am a little over confident in myself lol. To quote myself on a day when I was extremely sleep deprived and starving to death "My mind is like NASCAR, all my thoughts are just racing around the track. I am just waiting for one to make a pit stop..." Ya if that doesn't explain a lot about me, then I am not sure what in the world would.

I am going to just share with you my views about music first off because it is important to me. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MUSIC. And I will listen to just about anything, I am not too picky. I mean I dislike Micheal Buble but that just me. Anything else I am open to give a chance. I used to be really into country, but now my love has moved to punk rock, and well what I like to call AWESOMENESS! Some of my favorite bands include Fall Out Boy (#1 true love), Cobra Starship, Forever the Sickest Kids, The Cab, Sing it loud, The Academy is...., We the Kings, 3OH!3, Panic at the Disco (the ! is gone, get over it), Carolina Liar, The Maine, All Time Low, Hit the lights (...is growing on me) and well a bunch of various music. Well to sum it up if they are on the Decaydance Lable then they are all right by me. And yea I am aware not all of these bands fall into the punk rock category. But I like them lots and lots. I wish I could start my own band excpet I cannot sing, and have absolutey no musical talent.

Anyways this is just a sneak preview of all the wonderful things that I will be writing about in the bright future. So stay tuned.

And P.S. OBAMA '08!!!! WOOOHOOO

WELCOME TO THE NEW ADMINISTRATION.
